Position: Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing effective marketing strategies to build brand awareness and engage both the company’s customer base for business development initiatives and potential talent for internal employee engagement objectives. Projects will include work with the company’s website/blog, press releases, social media accounts, advertisements, video creation, materials/promotional items, and event planning. This person will implement and execute a branding strategy, identify trends, and determine improvements while supporting the business cross-functionally.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Create presentations and company marketing materials to support business development/marketing needs
  • Produce valuable and engaging content through company website, blog posts, social media, award applications, press releases, and client facing marketing materials
  • Develop strategies and tactics to improve brand awareness and drive qualified traffic to for our business development team
  • Promote both the CEO and company brand by applying to and securing awards, speaking engagements, and press
  • Serve as project manager for outsourced marketing projects: define scope of project with business development team/CEO, research and select vendors, effectively communicate project needs to vendors, secure contract, relay critique and changes to designs
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels – content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media and lead generation campaigns
  • Research the market (clients, future clients, competitors) to ensure we reach our target market through company marketing and business development efforts
  • Organize and plan business development and marketing events and act as the public relations liaison when strategically securing press and media coverage on company initiatives
  • Measure and report the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals for continuous improvement of strategy
  • Support the Business Development team with sourcing and projects as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing position
  • Prior experience owning social media marketing, generating content, and running campaigns
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva, and WordPress
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with little direction, ability to be creative and innovate new ideas and projects, ability to analyze and clearly present data/findings and implement changes to marketing strategies accordingly.
